HP announced the latest version of the HP Vertica Big Data analytics platform. Codenamed "Excavator," the latest release offers a number of updates including improved text searching, manageability, security, enhanced support for Hadoop and more. The new updates will help organizations analyze high velocity streaming data from diverse sources at scale in real time using standard relational, BI, and visualization tools."In today's fast-paced business environment, decision-makers increasingly need data in real time. HP Vertica uses a memory-and-disk balanced compressed columnar paradigm to achieve performance that out performs traditional relational technologies. HP Vertica's high performance makes it suitable for the analysis of high-speed streaming data sources such as Internet of Things (IoT), network monitoring, or real-time fraud detection.
