MedicsRIS/PACS is a complete radiology information system (RIS) and picture archiving and communication system (PACS). These systems are sold as standalone solutions or as an integrated suite. The RIS can also work with third-party PACS, such as those offered by GE Healthcare, Agfa, Fuji and Phillips. MedicsRIS/PACS software is well suited for practices of all sizes.
MedicsRIS/PACS provides broad and deep functionality. The powerful scheduling capability supports multi-modality scheduling, eligibility checks for insurance coverage, check lists for pre-certification. On the billing side, the system offers critical compliance features, such as double line item billing, where professional and technician components of a bill are broken out into two line items, as mandated by Medicare. document and image scanning is fully supported. Other important features include worklists for DICOM, HL7 compliance, EDI integration, tracking of mammography BIRADS findings, and ACR reporting.
MedicsRIS/PACS also provides a web portal for referring physicians, so that they can view images and reports on their patients, as well as schedule new appointments. The same portal capabilities are available to patients, so that they can schedule appointments, complete forms and process payments.
