iSALUS Healthcare clients in California, Nevada, and Hawaii who file claims to Medicare should be receiving notices regarding the Medicare Contractor change effective September 16, 2013.
The good news for our clients is that they do not need to make ANY changes in their Payer Setup to accommodate this change. Our clearinghouse, Capario, is managing this transition. They have done all appropriate testing, and all the necessary changes will be made at the clearinghouse. Nothing needs to be done within OfficeEMR. This should be a seamless transition for our clients.
In order to accommodate the transition, at Medicare’s request, Capario will be holding claims filed to Medicare between 9/11/13 to 9/15/13; these claims will be forwarded to the new carrier (Noridian) on 9/16/13. This may cause a minimal delay in payment.
Updates to the claim filling address in Payer Setup may be done after 9/16/13, but no changes should be made to the Payer ID.
